Here's what you need to know, beginning with the day you start thinking about booking and continuing all the way through embarkation.

First: What Exactly Is a Bliss Cruise?

Bliss isn't a small group of lifestyle travelers sailing aboard an otherwise conventional cruise.

It's the whole ship.

Bliss charters major Royal Caribbean and Celebrity cruise ships and transforms the sailing into an adult lifestyle vacation. Depending on the ship, that can mean anywhere from roughly 2,200 to 6,000 guests sharing one enormous floating lifestyle resort.

You still have the things that make a major cruise ship a great vacation—restaurants, bars, pools, entertainment, casino, spa, fitness center, excursions and beautiful destinations. But Bliss adds an entirely different layer.

Think DJs and pool parties. Theme nights. Meet-and-greets. Workshops and playshops. Shows. Signature excursions. Playrooms. Dungeon spaces. Fetish Dinner. And, perhaps most importantly, a ship full of people who chose this particular vacation for many of the same reasons you did.

Why Sail With Tom's Trips?

This is the part we think makes a big difference. Walking onto a ship with several thousand lifestyle guests sounds exciting. It can also sound a little overwhelming.

That's intentional. We don't want Tom's Trips to feel like another giant event

calendar. The point is to create easy opportunities to connect. Join everything. Join one thing. Or disappear for two days with the people you just met. It's your vacation.

Choosing Your Cruise

One of the first things people ask us is: “Which Bliss Cruise should we choose?”

There isn't one answer. A seven-night sailing on Wonder of the Seas is a little different vacation from a four-night trip aboard Celebrity Summit. Some people want the biggest ship, longest trip and most immersive experience possible.

Others think: We're intrigued…but maybe four nights is enough for our first one. That's one reason the February 24–28, 2027 Celebrity Summit cruise to Cozumel was discussed during our recent information session as an especially approachable first Bliss Cruise.

It's shorter, generally less expensive than a weeklong Wonder sailing, and is hosted by Paul & Jennie.

We also have longer Royal Caribbean and Celebrity options, and Tom's Trips can help you compare them rather than simply telling you to book whichever one is next.

Understanding the Price

Lifestyle charter pricing works a little differently from the $399 cruise advertisements you may be accustomed to seeing. Your price depends upon: the ship, number of nights, cabin category, location, availability, taxes, port charges and gratuities.

Bliss pricing is commonly shown per person plus ship fees and that ship fees have generally been in the range of roughly $425–$525 per person on our sailings. That is a typical range—not a permanent fixed amount, so always check the pricing for your specific cruise. 

As one real-world comparison, our four-night February 2027 Summit sailing was discussed at approximately $2,670 total for two guests in an ocean-view balcony including ship fees, taxes and gratuities. Longer cruises and larger ships—especially Wonder of the Seas—cost more. For example, the seven-night November 2026 Wonder of the Seas booking will likely start at around $6000 per couple for an ocean view cabin.

Don't Know Which Cabin to Choose? Ask Us.

Interior? Ocean view? Ocean-view balcony? Interior-facing balcony on one of Royal Caribbean's giant ships? Suite?

The “best” cabin isn't the same for everyone. One couple may care about waking up and seeing the ocean. Another would rather spend the difference on drinks, excursions and an extra vacation. Another may want to be near elevators because they know they'll be running from event to event all week. This is where using an actual travel agent rather than simply clicking a booking button matters. Tell us what matters to you and we'll help you look at the choices.

What If You're Traveling Solo?

At the time of our recent information session, Bliss cabins were not being sold as single-occupancy reservations, meaning a single traveler needed a roommate or second occupant. All ships have at least some cabins that can hold up to four people, but each cabin must be at least two people.

Payment Plans

You don't necessarily have to pay the entire vacation the day you book. For reservations made more than six months before sailing, payment options are available following a deposit. Deposits typically range from $500-1000 or more depending on the sailing, the cabin, and the number of people in the cabin. Payments are due in full at about six months from the sailing, so if you book 12 months in advance, for example, you could split your balance after your deposit into six monthly payments. Your credit card on file will automatically be charged once per month.

Why Doesn't My Cruise Show Up in the Royal Caribbean or Celebrity App Yet?

 Don't panic. One difference with charter bookings is that the cruise-line reservation number may not be available immediately after you reserve through Bliss. The cruise-line confirmation numbers are generally distributed roughly four months before the cruise. Once available, you can connect the reservation to the appropriate Royal Caribbean or Celebrity system and begin using the cruise-line tools associated with your sailing.

Yes, You'll Have More Than One App

This surprises first-time guests. You effectively have two different vacations happening at once:

the underlying Royal Caribbean or Celebrity cruise, and the Bliss lifestyle event.

The cruise-line app handles the ship side of things—things like dining, ship activities, reservations and account functions.

The Bliss App delivers a communication/social platform and helps you navigate the lifestyle events and programming side and connect with other guests.

Tom's Trips will also establish a dedicated hosted-group chat or group forum inside the Bliss platform.

It sounds like a lot before you sail. Once you're aboard, it actually makes the giant ship much easier to navigate.

What About Food?

You will not starve. And you do not have to purchase a specialty dining package. Your ship includes substantial dining options as part of the cruise fare, including the main dining room, buffet and various casual venues depending upon the ship.

And Royal Caribbean and Celebrity are known for delivering very good food.

Specialty dining is exactly what the name suggests: extra. Our group may decide to do a special meal together or you may see a restaurant you really want to experience. But don't assume you need to spend hundreds of additional dollars to eat well.

Bliss Cruise Fetish Dinner

And then there is Bliss's Fetish Dinner, which is an entirely different category of dinner.

That's not simply steak followed by cheesecake. It's a kink-themed interactive dining experience and one of the signature experiences associated with Bliss.

 This sells out every time, before embarkation, so watch for it to go on sale on the Bliss or Ship App!

Drinks

Drink packages generate more questions than almost anything else.

Do you need one? It depends entirely on how much you drink.

Royal Caribbean examples for 2026 ranged from about $18 per person per day for soda to about $103+ per day for the deluxe beverage package, discounted in advance of the cruise. But cruise-line pricing changes constantly. Packages go on sale. Prices change by sailing. Different cruise lines structure them differently. So don't bookmark those numbers. Use them to understand the concept, then check the actual current price for your cruise.

Do check the ship app a few months before your cruise and DON'T WAIT until you get on the ship to purchase drink packages as they will be on sale prior to embarkation and then go to full price on the ship.

What About Internet?

Wi-Fi is generally an additional cruise-line purchase unless it happens to be included with your cabin or another package. If you know you'll need to work, video call home or stay connected, plan for that expense in advance. And if you see a good pre-cruise offer after your cruise reservation becomes available, it may make sense to purchase it then. You can typically buy a package from $25-30 per day; sometimes for two devices which allow two people to use the wi-fi at the same time.

NOTE: You do NOT need a wi-fi package to access fully functioning ship apps and the Bliss App. You will still be able to connect to the wi-fi for use of the apps; just not anything else unless you buy a plan. 

Also note, that if your mobile device has an international cellular or data plan, you may have access while at port.

Excursions

You have choices. There are standard cruise-line excursions. There are typically Bliss signature excursions. And there are independent excursion companies in many destinations.

Some people schedule something in every port. Some never leave the ship. There is no wrong answer. A Bliss signature excursion can be particularly attractive if your goal is to spend the port day with other lifestyle guests, often in a clothing-optional and sex-positive environment rather than joining a conventional vanilla or family excursion group.

Now Let's Talk About What Everyone Really Wants to Know

The playrooms and dungeon.

Yes, they exist.

Yes, they are clothing optional

Yes, they are sex-positive

Yes, the dungeons have equipment, toys you can use, and experts that can teach you or help you sample different kink experiences.

Yes, the play rooms and dungeons are a significant part of the Bliss experience.

And no, you don't have to use them.

You can go to a workshop.

You can explore.

You can learn.

You can decide it's not your thing and spend the evening dancing.

You can also discover something you didn't know was your thing.

That's part of the fun.

The same applies to essentially everything aboard Bliss.

Opportunity is everywhere. Obligation is nowhere.

“But We Don't Look Like the People in the Ads.”

One of the most interesting discussions during our recent information session was about body image. People worry that a clothing-optional environment means they'll be judged more.

A lot of guests experience exactly the opposite.

Once everyone stops hiding behind the carefully selected outfit, body type often becomes far less important than personality, chemistry and connection. And Bliss is not a ship full of one age, one body type or one version of “sexy.”  A large portion of the crowd as roughly mid-30s through 50s, while noting that guests in their 30s certainly won't be alone.

The Theme Nights

Bring costumes. But don't panic about costumes. Some guests spend months creating elaborate looks. Some put on one accessory that vaguely relates to the theme and call it a victory. Both are fine. Theme nights are an invitation—not a dress-code exam. Our advice is to review the themes before packing and decide which nights you really want to go all-in on. Your cabin has less storage than your bedroom. Choose accordingly.

Packing for Bliss

Start with normal cruise packing: swimwear, daytime clothes, dinner clothes, comfortable shoes, toiletries, sunscreen, medications, chargers and excursion clothing.

Then add your theme-night wardrobe and whatever adult/lifestyle items you intend to bring.

But don't assume that every item that's legal at home is automatically allowed onto a cruise ship.

During our information session, guests specifically asked about CBD, handcuffs and kink toys.

Those are exactly the kinds of items whose rules should be checked before you pack rather than argued about with security at the terminal. Tom's Triops will share practical pre-cruise information, but every guest should review the current cruise-line prohibited-items guidance as well.

Travel to The Port City the Day Before

This is one of the easiest pieces of advice we can give you.

Do not plan to fly into the port city the morning your cruise leaves unless you absolutely have no alternative.

One delayed flight can turn a vacation into a disaster. For Tom's Trips hosted sailings, we also want the pre-cruise day to be part of the fun. Depending upon the sailing, we're working on things like hotel group rates, transportation and a pre-cruise meet-and-greet or party. That means you can meet your hosts and some of the people you'll be spending the week with before the ship ever leaves the dock.

Embarkation Day

Embarkation looks much more intimidating on paper than it feels once you're there. You'll arrive at the terminal, hand checked luggage to the porters, go through cruise security and check-in, and board.

Keep passports or other travel documents, medications, valuables and anything you need immediately in your carry-on.

Your room may not be available the moment you board.

Your luggage may take even longer.

So don't pack the one thing you desperately need at 2 p.m. inside the suitcase you hand to a porter at 10:30 a.m.

Once onboard, complete the ship's required safety/muster process, get connected, explore—and find your Tom's Trips group. And then the vacation actually begins.

Are Tom's Trips activities included?

Do I have to attend the Tom's Trips events?

Absolutely not. They're there when you want them. You can spend the entire cruise with the group, drop in occasionally or create your own adventure.

Is the entire cruise ship lifestyle?

Yes. Bliss operates as a full-ship charter rather than placing a lifestyle group aboard a conventional sailing. The meeting materials described Bliss ships ranging from approximately 2,200 to 6,000 guests.

Does the cruise still have normal cruise activities?

Yes. You still have restaurants, bars, pools, entertainment, spa, fitness center, casino, port days, excursions and other ship amenities. Bliss adds lifestyle programming to that experience.

Is Bliss only for swingers?

Is it friendly to first-timers?

Yes. A Tom's Trips-hosted group can actually make a first Bliss Cruise easier because you'll have people to connect with before boarding.

What is the typical age range?

There is no required or fixed demographic. The information session described a large portion of guests as roughly 30–60, with guests in their 20's and 30s and 60's+ specifically reassured that they would find plenty of people around their age.

Will we feel lost on a ship with thousands of people?

That's one of the biggest reasons for the Tom's Trips-hosted program.

You'll have hosts, group activities and electronic communication tools to help you find your people. The group structure helps a huge ship feel much smaller.

What apps will I need?

Typically you'll use the applicable Royal Caribbean or Celebrity app for the ship itself and a separate Bliss communication/social platform for lifestyle programming and guest interaction. Tom's Trips may also establish a dedicated group chat or group within the Bliss platform.

What kinds of cabins are available?

What should I pack?
